Neurological conditions all cause a form of ‘disconnection’ between the brain’s signals and the body’s functioning – and between people, their world and the activities they love.
Neuro conditions affect the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. Many of these conditions are long-term, while others are lifelong and progressively worsen over time.
Many neuro conditions create significant challenges, not only for the person living with them but also for their families, caregivers, and communities.

The most prevalent neurological conditions in Queensland include:
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is one type of neurological condition. Whether you’re living with MS or another neuro condition, there are some common symptoms and challenges, such as:
- Reduced strength and mobility
- Balance and coordination issues
- Changes in memory and cognitive function
- Difficulties with speech, hearing, vision, or behaviour
- Chronic pain and fatigue
- Impacts on quality of life, including employment, relationships, independence, financial stress, social participation, and mental health
- Change the way a person thinks and feels, often leading to loneliness, isolation and disconnection from loved ones and community
