Here is some profiles of a couple of our top fundraisers...

NAME:
Matt Eastman

OCCUPATION:
Project Manager for Baulderstone, one of Qld's largest construction companies.

HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE MS BRISSIE TO THE BAY BIKE RIDE?

This is my first one (2009)

HOW MUCH DID YOU FUNDRAISE FOR MS QUEENSLAND THIS YEAR?

I raised $11,582 with a team effort of over $32,000 by Baulderstone

WHAT WERE SOME OF YOUR BEST/MOST SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING METHODS USED? AND HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT REACHING YOUR FUNDRAISING GOAL?

Using your extensive list of contacts (both personal and professional) effectively. I probably sent way too many e-mails and annoyed way too many people, but it worked! Holding events at work to raise awareness in the lead-up to the event helped to gather momentum. Even if it's just a quick talk at weekly drinks to make workmates aware of why you're doing the event.

WHY DO YOU SUPPORT MS QUEENSLAND?
I lost my cousin Joel Eastman to the effects of MS in 2008, and I would dearly like to see a cure found for MS. In the meantime I hope that anything I raise is used to help make life the best it can be for people with MS.

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST EXPERIENCE FROM THE 2009 BRISSIE TO THE BAY?
Finishing!

WILL YOU BE TAKING PART IN NEXT YEAR’S MS BRISSIE TO THE BAY BIKE RIDE?
Absolutely!

NAME:
Ryan Kitchen

OCCUPATION:
Senior Contracts Administrator for Baulderstone Qld

HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE MS BRISSIE TO THE BAY BIKE RIDE?
2 years

HOW MUCH DID YOU FUNDRAISE FOR MS QUEENSLAND THIS YEAR?
$6867

WHAT WERE SOME OF YOUR BEST/MOST SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING METHODS USED? AND HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT REACHING YOUR FUNDRAISING GOAL?
Through the years of working in the construction industry I have managed to foster strong relationships with many subcontractors, who once they heard I was raising money for MS, were very generous in donating money towards my goal.

WHY DO YOU SUPPORT MS QUEENSLAND?
It's a great charity which probably doesn't get as much coverage as some of the other ones

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST EXPERIENCE FROM THE 2009 BRISSIE TO THE BAY?

Crossing the finishing line and then managing to fall off my bike, I had to laugh at that.

WILL YOU BE TAKING PART IN NEXT YEAR’S MS BRISSIE TO THE BAY BIKE RIDE?
Of course!
